The Highway Engineer is an appointed position. The Wilkin County Highway Department is directly responsible for the construction and maintenance of county highways and bridges. The department also provides necessary assistance to townships and cities within the county. The inspection and maintenance of the county ditch system is also a function of the Highway Department.
